How to turn saved links into a to-do list
To turn saved links into a to-do list, give each link one verb, estimate the minutes, name the situation where you can do it and group by what fits your day. Then keep the list short. KEEP does this with one tap per link and ranks items by what you can do now.

What makes a saved link a task?
A link becomes a task when it has a verb, an estimate and a situation. "Cafe by the river" is a link. "Go there on Saturday, 90 min, with a friend" is a task. Write the verb first.
How do I convert a pile of links?
Work through the oldest links in sessions of ten minutes.
- Open the link and decide: do I still want this?
- If yes, choose one verb: go, try, make, buy, use, learn or send.
- Add minutes and who or where, if it matters.
- If no, delete it. Letting go is part of the job.
- Stop after ten items, and do one of them.
How should the list be grouped?
Group by situation, not by topic. You choose from a list when you have a specific amount of time.
| You have | Look at | Example |
|---|---|---|
| 5 to 15 minutes | Quick items | Send a link, buy something small |
| An evening | Try or make | Cook a recipe |
| A weekend | Go | Visit a place |
| Friends around | Shared items | A game or a restaurant |
How does KEEP do this?
In KEEP, tap + and paste the link, then tap an intent. Set Who and Where if you know them. The Do tab lists items under Now, This week and Later. A situation shortcut on Today asks how much time you have and shows items that fit, with the reason. See Today and Do.
How do I keep the list small?
Limit the active list to what you could do within a few weeks. Use the 7-day challenge to pick up to seven items and finish them in a week. When you finish something, add the result, even a one-line note. It shows you that the loop works.
What if I save from many apps?
Use one place that accepts links from anywhere. In KEEP you copy the link in the other app and paste it. There is no share-sheet extension yet, so the step is copy, open KEEP, tap +.
A worked example
You have six saves: a ramen place, a video you want to remake, a book, a tip about keyboard shortcuts, a link to send your brother, and a hiking trail. Assign Go to the ramen place and the trail, Recreate to the video, Get to the book, Use to the tips and Send to the link. Add 90, 60, 45, 15, 2 and 180 minutes. Now Saturday morning has two obvious options, and a spare 2 minutes goes to the link for your brother.
Mistakes to avoid
Keep the list honest.
- Giving every item a deadline, which turns the list into guilt.
- Putting everything in "Someday". Choose a real date or let the item go.
- Adding more saves before finishing any.
- Duplicating the same link in several apps.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best app for turning links into tasks?
Any tool that records a verb and a situation works. KEEP is built for this: one tap for intent, then Today and Do show what fits now.
Should I use a normal to-do app?
You can. A normal to-do app needs you to rewrite each link as a task. KEEP keeps the link, the preview and your reason together.
How many tasks should the list have?
Keep it to what you could realistically do in the next few weeks.
Can I add a deadline?
Yes. KEEP offers "This week", a picked date or no deadline.
