KEEP: a reason for every save
KEEP asks one question when you save: why? You choose among Recreate, Go, Try, Get, Use, Learn, Send and Remember, or tap Just Keep and decide later. Today and Do then sort what is doable now, this week or later, and every card says why it is shown. Search works by memory, such as "that reel with a girl driving". See save with a reason and Today and Do.
Limits: no reader mode, no share-sheet saving described in the app, no Android version, and items are stored on the app server under a random device ID rather than an account. English and Russian only. See pricing.
Instapaper and Readwise Reader: for people who read a lot
Instapaper strips pages into a clean text view for offline reading, with highlights, notes, text-to-speech and folders; Premium adds full-text search and unlimited highlights. Readwise Reader brings articles, newsletters, RSS, PDFs and EPUBs into one place with highlighting and full-text search. Matter covers similar ground with newsletters and text-to-speech. Compare Instapaper in KEEP vs Instapaper.
Raindrop.io and GoodLinks: for bookmarks
Raindrop.io keeps a permanent, full-text searchable copy of saved pages and PDFs, with collections, tags, team sharing and browser extensions. GoodLinks is a one-time purchase that syncs through iCloud without an account. Neither asks why you saved something. See KEEP vs Raindrop.io.
Sorti: the nearest idea to KEEP
Sorti describes itself as an AI app that organizes screenshots, social posts, links, products and recipes into smart categories automatically. KEEP takes the opposite route: you choose the reason and the AI only offers observations. If you want folders made for you, Sorti fits. If you want to decide, KEEP does.
Who should pick which?
